Cauliflower is one of several vegetables in the species Brassica oleracea, in the family Brassicaceae. It is an annual plant that reproduces by seed. The cauliflower head is composed of an inflorescence that usually is white, but it could be also straw yellow, green or violet. Typically, only the head, this inflorescence with many terminal abortive flowers, is eaten.
